A feline specialist is a veterinarian with advanced training and a dedicated focus on the unique health, behaviour, and medical needs of cats. While many veterinarians treat both dogs and cats, feline-focused care goes a step further—offering a deeper understanding of how cats experience illness, stress, and their environment.

Cats are experts at hiding discomfort, which means subtle changes can easily be missed. A feline specialist is trained to recognize these early signs and provide care that’s tailored specifically to cats, from diagnostics and treatment plans to handling techniques that reduce fear and anxiety.

At our clinic, this level of care is led by Dr. Christian Jones, our boarded feline specialist. He completed his certification in 2025, becoming the tenth veterinarian in Canada and only the second in Calgary to hold this designation. He is supported by our entire veterinary team, ensuring your cat receives thoughtful, collaborative care every step of the way.
