Macleod Trail Animal Hospital is excited to announce
Dr. Christian Jones is now accepting cases for referral!
Our unique referral service is not meant to be a replacement for referral to other specialists such as radiology or internal medicine, but rather a complementary service to help reduce wait time for non-critical cases. If Dr. Jones feels that any cases would be best served seeing a different specialist, such recommendation will be made and help facilitating the referral can be given.
Types of cases that would benefit from referral to Dr. Jones:

Management of FIP cases, especially with the use of nucleoside drugs (more about FIP here)

Cases in which further workup of abdominal ultrasound is warranted

Outpatient abdominal ultrasound

Management of patients with multiple comorbidities, such as geriatrics

Chronic vomiting/hairballs

Chronic diarrhea/loose stool

Chronic/recurrent hyporexia

Investigation of elevated liver enzymes

Chronic/recurrent obstipation/constipation
-
Chronic/recurrent FLUTD
-
Recurrent bacterial cystitis
-
Recurrent cystic calculi
Prior to all consultations we ask that you completed the referral form and have all relevant documents (i.e. medical records, lab work, radiographs, referral reports, etc.) emailed to Macleod Trail Animal Hospital so the case can be reviewed. Our referral coordinator will then reach out to you or your client, dependent on the option chosen, to schedule the consultation.
