Ultrasound & X-ray

Sometimes the answers we need are hidden on the inside — that’s where our X-ray and ultrasound come in! These tools help us get a clear picture of your pet’s health so we can find solutions.

X-ray

X-rays give us a safe and effective way to see what’s happening inside your pet’s body. They allow our team to uncover issues that can’t be detected on a physical exam alone, whether your pet is unwell, injured, or just due for a check-up. In addition to diagnosing problems, X-rays can also be used proactively to spot potential concerns before they become more serious. They can reveal a wide variety of conditions, including bone and joint issues, tumors, swallowed objects, heart and lung disease, bladder and kidney stones, and many others.

Many of our doctors are PennHip-certified to help diagnose hip dysplasia, and we frequently perform a variety of OFA X-rays.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is another valuable imaging tool we use to assess your pet’s health. Unlike X-rays, which provide a picture of bones and dense structures, ultrasound uses sound waves to create real-time images of soft tissues and internal organs. This allows us to evaluate the liver, kidneys, bladder, and other organs with incredible detail. Ultrasound is especially helpful for detecting fluid, guiding certain procedures, and monitoring ongoing conditions, giving us a clearer and more complete understanding of your pet’s overall health.

Dr. Jones has extensive training and experience in performing abdominal ultrasounds and offers ultrasound appointments to our clients as well as on a referral basis.

If your pet is experiencing symptoms that may need further investigation, we recommend scheduling an appointment with one of our veterinarians.
